<p>So why did this happen?  Trends come and go and freestyle classes inevitably became tired.  Over-complicated choreography (particularly in step classes), over-familiarity with aerobics routines and sheer boredom (for instructors and participants) all played their part.</p>
<p>BUT does this mean we should dismiss old skool workouts altogether?  Are they still relevant today?  Personally, I love old skool workouts!  You can&#8217;t beat the buzz, energy, euphoria and pumping beats of a good hi/lo aerobics class. And to those who would say HIIT gives a superior workout, I firmly believe old skool has LOADS of benefits. Not every client is obsessed with fat loss and women exercise for many reasons.  Aerobics and step classes will boost your cardio fitness, tone muscles, improve co-ordination, body image and self confidence and they&#8217;re HUGE on the fun and feel good factor! You&#8217;ll get a fab full body workout from a well-structured class.</p>

<p>KatsFitness has recently re-introduced aerobics and step classes in Dumfries (by popular demand) and not having done these classes for 7 or 8 years, I was amazed at how tough they actually were. So don&#8217;t diss the old skool!</p>

<p>Hello ladies!</p>
<p>Following the popularity of my signature 3D Toning classes in my Dumfries studio, I&#8217;m delighted to announce the launch of my exciting new body conditioning programme for women.  The Elite Toning Project is designed to give women of all ages a leaner, more toned look without bulking.  And best of all you’ll still maintain your womanly curves.</p>
<p>This programme is ideal for women who currently take part in conditioning classes but want to step up a gear to maximise results. Because the exercises will be fun as well as highly effective, it will appeal to women who dislike traditional resistance training.  With summer on the way (hopefully), it&#8217;s the ideal way to get in shape for the beach.</p>
<p>Many women avoid resistance training as they associate it with boring gym machines and old school isolation exercises. However, it’s essential to help women maintain lean muscle mass and decrease body fat. The more muscle mass we have, the higher our metabolic rate, even when we’re at rest.</p>
<p>Elite equipment will be used to really challenge clients and help them get the super-toned bodies they desire. ViPR, The Grid, TRX, power bags and kettlebells will feature in the workouts and I know my clients are going to love them!</p>
<p>The Wednesday sessions are now fully booked and up and running in Rosefield Studio. A second Saturday slot will kick off on 19 May from 10.30-11.30am. Spaces are strictly limited so I can focus on helping my clients get the best from their workouts. Booking is therefore essential. Payment will be taken in advance for 4 sessions to encourage regular attendance as this will ensure the best results &#8211; this is not a drop-in programme.  However, I know life sometimes gets in the way so if you do miss a session, you don&#8217;t lose it, and can either attend on another day in the same week (space permitting) or do your regular slot the following week.</p>
